Roadside Service Technician, Battery
About The Position
As a Roadside Battery Technician for AAA Oregon/Idaho, you will operate a AAA-owned service truck throughout the Portland metro area and respond to roadside assistance requests from AAA members. You will provide exceptional service while helping members resolve roadside issues safely and efficiently. Services may include tire changes, fuel delivery, battery service, and minor mechanical repairs. The role requires creating a safe environment for yourself, your teammates, and the members you serve, and completing each service call thoroughly, professionally, and with sound judgment. Roadside assistance is a primary reason members join and remain with AAA, and technicians help build member trust through urgency, technical skills, safe work practices, and a desire to help others.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of driving experience and an excellent driving record.
- Valid driver's license; a CDL is not required.
- Successful completion of a criminal background screening, DMV background screening, employment verification, and pre-employment drug screen, including cannabis screening.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- At least 2 years of customer service experience.
- Ability to balance, bend, kneel, and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Self-motivated, with a strong sense of urgency and a desire to help others.
- Ability to problem solve and remain calm, professional, and safety-focused under pressure.

- Automotive repair or technology experience.
- Tow experience; an excellent training program is provided.
- English/Spanish bilingual skills; bilingual pay differential is available.
Responsibilities
