The purpose of a Roadside Recovery Mechanic is to attend, assess and repair minor vehicle breakdowns on the roadside in order to get the vehicle safely back to the depot for full repair. It's an important role within our engineering team and allows us to keep things moving.
Requirements
- Familiarity with mechanical repair techniques and the use of diagnostic equipment
- A valid UK driving license
- A willingness to learn
Nice To Haves
- Level 2 SVQ
- A PCV Licence is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Attend and repair bus breakdowns in and around the Glasgow area, driving a company vehicle
- Booking out parts from the stores dept when required
- Deliver a high standard of repair/temp repair to get our buses back to the depot
- Complete accurate breakdown records, keeping paperwork up to date and correctly completed
- Carry out any other duties that may be deemed suitable by the engineering manager
