AAA is actively hiring a customer service focused Roadside Automotive Service Technicians to deliver hands-on assistance and make a real impact for members in critical moments. Every call is an opportunity to help stranded drivers get back on track quickly and safely, providing trusted, real-time roadside support when it matters most. This second shift position (including some weekends and holidays) offers independence, stability, and meaningful work—all starting at $19.40/hr with additional shift differential opportunities.

Requirements

  • Basic automotive knowledge or interest, with a willingness to learn hands-on vehicle repair and roadside service skills—training is provided!
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to stay calm, think quickly, and take action to help customers in real-time situations.
  • Customer service skills and a friendly, professional attitude—you enjoy helping people and creating positive experiences, even in stressful situations.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain services and next steps in a way that’s easy for members to understand.
  • Ability to work independently, manage your time, and stay organized while responding to service calls throughout your shift.
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, on-the-go environment, where every day is different and urgency matters.
  • Dependability and a strong work ethic, including punctuality and a commitment to doing the job right the first time.
  • Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks, such as lifting equipment, changing tires, and assisting drivers in various weather conditions.
  • Safety-first mindset, with the willingness to follow training, procedures, and guidelines to keep yourself and others safe.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on roadside assistance by performing on-scene vehicle evaluations, unlocking cars, changing flat tires, delivering fuel, and completing minor automotive repairs—including battery replacements and windshield wiper installs.
  • Provide expert battery services, including testing, diagnosing, installing, and explaining warranty options—while accurately completing all service documentation.
  • Respond to real-time service calls as a mobile automotive technician, helping stranded drivers get back on the road quickly, safely, and confidently.
  • Educate and support AAA members by explaining service options and introducing additional AAA products and benefits that enhance their experience.
  • Work independently in the field, making sound decisions while following AAA policies, safety guidelines, and quality service standards.
  • Maintain your work vehicle and equipment, performing daily inspections to ensure tools, safety systems, and supplies are ready for every call.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by creating positive, professional, and empathetic experiences—balancing urgency with care on every call.
