About The Position

Under general supervision, plans, coordinates, and supervises the functions and activities of one or more crews in the maintenance and construction of County roads; and performs related work as required. This is an Open Competitive/Countywide Promotional recruitment being conducted to fill a current full-time vacancy in the Community Services Department. The list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

Requirements

• Five years of progressively responsible work experience in the performance of road maintenance and construction work, including two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction equipment; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License is required at the time of application and must be maintained for continued employment in this classification.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and Teams
• Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, ProjectManager, Procore, CoConstruct, or e-Builder
• Strong organization, planning, prioritization, time management, and communication skills

Benefits

• Eligible employees may receive an annual merit increase of 5% until they reach the maximum salary for the classification.
• Upon promotion, current Washoe County employees are placed at the minimum rate of the salary range for the higher classification of the new position OR a promotional calculation, whichever is greater.
