About The Position

Weyerhaeuser's Vail Timberlands operation, based out of Rainier, WA has an opening for a Roads Maintenance Operator. We are seeking an individual who desires to work in a market-focused logging environment. This is a full-time, dayshift hourly position. Hourly employees at this operation are represented by the International Association of Machinists (IAM). Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Experience and ability to operate dump truck (required)
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to work safely in both an individual and team environment
  • Willingness to flow to work and change job assignments as needed
  • This position is designated by WY as a safety-sensitive position. Please be advised that due to the designation of this position as safety-sensitive, you will be subject to pre-employment testing for cannabis and its metabolites.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and competently operate equipment in various settings, while adhering to safety, environmental, production and quality standards (grader, construction cat, excavator, front end loader, backhoe, and dump truck).
  • Participate in road maintenance activities: culvert installation, ditching, patching, grading and minor road abandonment work, other ancillary functions as assigned.
  • Ability to perform basic operation to independently load, haul, and spread rock, and ability to load associated equipment on to trailer or low bed for mobilization.
  • Understand environmental impacts associated with road maintenance, with an awareness and ability of how to manage them.
  • Perform and assist on equipment inspections and fully support and participate in preventative maintenance procedures and routine maintenance repairs as they develop.
  • Maintain close working relationships and clear communication with other personnel.
