Road Technician 1
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and make advanced repairs at customers’ locations. The goal is to complete work safely and effectively to avoid equipment downtime. Equipment varies by location and may include aerial work platforms, general construction tools and equipment, large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. The role may involve work at challenging remote locations and offers opportunities to develop skills for a career track in service or operations management within a safety-focused team environment. The physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 50 pounds or more, and to work indoors or outdoors when required.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- 1–2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
- Mechanic’s tools of the trade may be needed.
- Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required based on location needs.
- CDL license may be required in some locations.
