Road Technician - Power & HVAC
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Pump and Power Road Technician 2. This role troubleshoots and diagnoses complex mechanical and electrical equipment problems, performs advanced and complex repairs on all types of equipment, and assesses customers’ needs to provide solutions. The technician may lead and train other team members in equipment repairs when a Shop Foreman or Service Manager is absent. The position involves servicing Pump & Power equipment, including mechanical, electrical, diesel, generator, HVAC, air compressor, refrigeration, dehumidification, and load bank systems. The physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 25 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required by the job. The description notes that additional miscellaneous or incidental duties may be required and that reasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with applicable laws.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience repairing and maintaining Pump & Power equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- DOT physical examination (medical card).
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
- Advanced understanding of and repair experience with mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment, generators, HVAC, and air compressors.
- Advanced understanding of refrigeration (EPA certified).
- Mastery of load bank repairs.
- Advanced understanding of electrical engines and controllers.
- Advanced ability to operate CDI and Munters dehumidification equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with and comprehension of VFDs, VSDs, soft starts, and across-the-line motor starting.
- Some factory diesel, generator, compressor, or HVAC training.
