About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Pump and Power Road Technician 2. The role troubleshoots and diagnoses complex mechanical and electrical equipment problems, performs advanced or complex repairs on all types of equipment, and scopes customer needs to provide solutions. The technician may lead and train team members in equipment repair when a Shop Foreman or Service Manager is absent. The role involves repairing and maintaining Pump & Power equipment, including generators, HVAC, air compressors, refrigeration, and dehumidification equipment. Work may take place indoors or outdoors and requires physical tasks such as bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 25 pounds or more.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience repairing and maintaining Pump & Power equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- DOT Physical Examination (medical card).
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
- Advanced understanding and repair skills for mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment, generators, HVAC, and air compressors.
- Advanced understanding of refrigeration; EPA certification required.
- Mastery of load bank repairs.
- Advanced understanding of electrical engines and controllers.
- Advanced operation of CDI and Munters dehumidification equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with and comprehension of VFDs, VSDs, soft starts, and across-the-line motor starting.
- Some factory diesel, generator, compressor, and HVAC training.
