About The Position

Jarrett Fleet Services is seeking a Road Service Mechanic based in Seville, Ohio. The company provides fleet maintenance, emergency fleet repair, and annual DOT compliance inspections and repairs. The mechanic performs diagnostics and repairs on semi-trucks and trailers at customer locations or roadside, using diagnostic tools, repair software, manuals, and practical experience. The role operates and maintains a fully equipped service truck and its tools and parts inventory, keeps accurate service and hours records, and safely operates vehicles to load, haul, and unload equipment. The position requires being on call 24/7.

Requirements

At least 3 years of truck and diesel engine experience.
Advanced knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment.
Skill in operating power tools and machinery.
Ability to read and interpret documents.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Ability to work individually.

Nice To Haves

Graduate of a mechanical trade school or vocational school.
Safety certifications.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics and repairs on semi-trucks and trailers at customer locations or on the roadside.
Use electronic diagnostic tools, computer software, repair manuals, and experience to identify and repair issues.
Operate and maintain a fully equipped service truck, including its tools and parts inventory.
Remain on call 24/7 to perform job functions.
Maintain accurate service records of repairs and hours.
Use common hand and power tools, hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and welders.
Safely operate vehicles of various sizes to load, haul, and unload equipment.
