About The Position

We are seeking individuals to join our county's infrastructure team in maintaining and improving the safety and quality of County Roads through various road maintenance activities. This role requires a strong desire to learn, collaborate, and a commitment to personal accountability. The county provides training and support, including assistance in obtaining a CDL within six months. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Eagerness to learn and collaborate with peers.
  • Strong commitment to personal accountability.
  • Able to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License within six months.
  • Three (3) years of experience; plus, experience on three (3) of the following pieces of equipment: loader, backhoe, grader, or dozer; and minimum of 600 hours of operating time.
  • Must meet the minimum qualifications of a Road Operations Specialist.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience operating heavy equipment but not required.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.
  • Attach a copy of your CDL License to your application.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all facets of road construction and maintenance activities to uphold the safety and quality of County Roads.
  • Work on maintenance of street signs, sidewalks, pothole repair and patching, storm drain and culvert cleaning, crack sealing asphalt, flagging, and other duties.
  • Use/operate heavy equipment including loaders, graders, track hoes, backhoes, bulldozers, street sweepers, and large trucks to haul heavy equipment.
  • Plow snow, grade gravel roads, install chip seal, and do overlay with a paver.
