About The Position
Seasonal, Six-Month Position Now Available with Lane County Road Maintenance! Lane County Public Works is seeking a seasonal Road Maintenance Worker to join our Vegetation Crew based in Eugene. This is a hands-on, outdoor role for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in maintaining public spaces, and wants to contribute to the safety and beauty of our local transportation system. As part of the Vegetation Crew, you'll support essential roadside maintenance activities across Lane County - helping keep roadways clear, visible, and safe for the community. This work plays a direct role in preventing hazards, improving driver visibility, and maintaining the overall condition of our roads and right-of-way.
Requirements
- Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
- One year of experience in the operation of light equipment or performing unskilled or semi-skilled tasks, preferred.
- Must be in possession of a valid driver's license at time of application, and a valid Oregon Driver's license by time of appointment.
- Selected candidate is required to pass a seven-year criminal history background check before entering County employment.

Responsibilities
- Perform vegetation control along roadsides, including mowing, trimming, brush cutting, and debris removal
