About The Position
The Ambulatory Nurse uses a systematic nursing approach that incorporates assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse provides healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing. The role is for Mattoon Convenient Care at Carle Health.
Requirements
- Associate's degree.
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 1 year.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 1 year.
Responsibilities
- Provide and facilitate competent healthcare for patients and families in the area of practice.
- Ensure adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
- Ensure care is documented completely and accurately.
- Provide health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
- Act as a preceptor and support the development of staff and healthcare students.
- Provide leadership for initiatives intended to improve quality of care or clinical outcomes.
- Assist the Nursing Supervisor/coordinator in developing departmental standing orders.
