RN New Grad Float Pool
About The Position
The New Grad Float Pool offers registered nurses the opportunity to begin their nursing careers while gaining exposure to a variety of patient populations and care teams. The position serves Butterworth Hospital and Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. Under the ANA scope of practice and the direction of the Nurse Leader, the RN uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge while providing professional, quality nursing care. The RN incorporates patient- and family-centered care principles, recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on outcomes, and includes patient and family input and goals in care planning. The RN develops teaching strategies and appropriately documents education and learning in the health record.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within five years.
- Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role, and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge.
- Provide quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader and in accordance with Corewell Health policies and procedures.
- Incorporate patient- and family-centered care principles into nursing practice.
- Partner with patients and families and use their input and goals when planning care.
- Develop teaching strategies for patients and families and document education and learning in the health record.
