About The Position

The RN provides adult acute care at West Jefferson Medical Center, coordinating and delivering hands-on patient care while collaborating with multidisciplinary team members. The role emphasizes safe, compassionate, patient- and family-centered care, effective communication, continuity, and an exceptional patient experience. The nurse also supports LCMC Health’s culture of inclusion, teamwork, and individualized care.

Requirements

Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana, as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
At least 2 years of experience as a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

Prioritize, coordinate, and delegate all care touchpoints for assigned patients.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure appropriate direct patient care.
Maintain and advocate for a safe environment.
Monitor and communicate with patients, families, and appropriate care team members about significant events, changes in patient condition, and questions or concerns.
Prevent and treat wounds.
Monitor and carry out Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communication, and an exceptional patient experience.
Consult with a supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
Assist team members without being asked.
