About The Position

The RN provides direct nursing care to residents and supervises the day-to-day nursing activities performed by licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants. The position is scheduled Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Organize and assign work for each tour of duty, distributing workloads according to staff qualifications and the facility’s size and physical layout.
• Periodically review department policies, procedures, and job descriptions and recommend revisions.
• Implement established policies and procedures and ensure assigned nursing personnel comply with facility policies and procedures.
• Meet with assigned nursing staff and support personnel to plan appropriate services, programs, and activities for the shift.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure residents’ individual care plans are followed.
• Participate in developing, maintaining, and implementing the facility’s quality assurance program.
• Request conferences with the Director of Nursing as needed to discuss resident, personnel, and facility-related matters.
• Participate in facility surveys conducted by authorized regulatory agencies, as requested.
• Periodically review residents’ written discharge plans and participate in updating them as required.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
• Personally place and receive all calls to and from physicians.
