About The Position
Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is hiring a registered nurse to provide medical care to students at the Hawaii Job Corps Center in Waimanalo, Hawaii. The nurse treats and helps prevent minor injuries and illnesses, ensures students receive clinical care, and provides information and guidance promoting their health and well-being. This is a PRN position with variable hours when needed. The posting states there are no nights, weekends, or holidays.
Requirements
- Valid, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment.
- Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with youth in a paid or unpaid capacity is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to students as authorized by the medical provider and within the scope of the state-specific nurse practice act.
- Supervise staff LPNs/LVNs to ensure compliance with state regulations and applicable scopes of practice and nurse practice acts.
- Provide basic health care required by the Department of Labor, including entry requirements and immunizations.
- Monitor students who are ill and unable to attend class.
- Treat and help prevent minor injuries and illnesses, and provide guidance on health and well-being.
