About The Position

The RN in the ICU Float Pool supports adult ICUs and is accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessing patients, making clinical decisions about nursing care, ensuring that care is provided safely and competently, delivering individualized nursing care, and evaluating care for groups of patients. This role requires patient care and is based onsite at 90 Blossom Street, with 36 scheduled hours per week and a rotating shift.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Massachusetts Registered Nurse license required.
0–1 year of clinical nursing experience required.
Familiarity with principles and skills needed for practical nursing and patient care.
Knowledge of the care required by the age groups served.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
Administer medications and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.

Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions.
Interpret the plan of medical care, assess patients, and make clinical decisions regarding nursing care.
Provide safe, competent, and individualized nursing care and evaluate care for groups of patients.
