About The Position

The RN provides hands-on, diverse Med-Surg nursing care in a Tele/Stroke Med/Surg setting. The role centers on delivering attentive, compassionate bedside care, coordinating and prioritizing patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and supporting patients and their families. The position is for day shift at Touro, part of LCMC Health.

Requirements

Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana, as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
Current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

Prioritize, coordinate, and delegate all care touchpoints for assigned patients.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure appropriate direct patient care.
Maintain and advocate for a safe environment.
Monitor and communicate with patients, families, and appropriate care team members about significant events, changes in patient condition, questions, and concerns.
Prevent and treat wounds.
Monitor and carry out Joint Commission infection control and environment-of-care requirements.
Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and a positive patient experience.
Consult with a supervisor when assignments or tasks cannot be completed promptly, effectively, or safely.
Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum-of-care services.
Assist other team members without being asked.
