About The Position

The RN provides nursing care in a Tele/Stroke Med/Surg setting on a full-time night shift. The role coordinates and delegates patient care, collaborates with multidisciplinary team members, promotes a safe environment, monitors patient conditions, and communicates with patients, families, and care team members about significant events, changes, questions, and concerns. The nurse also prevents and treats wounds, follows infection control and environment-of-care requirements, supports continuity of care and efficient patient throughput, and provides patient and family education. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is offered to eligible candidates.

Requirements

Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana, as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
Current PALS certification for CHNOLA only.

Responsibilities

Prioritize, coordinate, and delegate patient care touchpoints.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure appropriate direct patient care.
Maintain and advocate for a safe environment.
Monitor and communicate with patients, families, and appropriate care team members regarding significant events, changes in patient condition, questions, and concerns.
Prevent and treat wounds.
Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment-of-care requirements.
Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional patient experience.
Consult with a supervisor when assignments or tasks cannot be completed promptly, effectively, or safely.
Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum-of-care services.
Assist other team members as needed.
