This position is mainly clinic-based but will provide hospital coverage as needed. The role involves caring for patients with wound, ostomy, and/or continence needs, requiring knowledge and skill in consulting, following, and/or developing care protocols for pediatrics and adults. The RN will serve as a clinical resource and consultant to patient care staff in developing and implementing patient care plans. The job description emphasizes excellent clinical and interpersonal skills, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) for individualized patient care. Responsibilities include care coordination, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions. Collaboration with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, is essential for planning, implementing, and evaluating care. The role requires practicing within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge, adhering to age and population-specific standards, and complying with the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules of the state of practice and licensure.
