About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Wound Care Specialist coordinates wound care therapy as part of patients’ total nursing care plans. The specialist participates in patient and family education and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff and other patient-care team personnel to maintain professional nursing practice standards in the clinical setting. The position reports to the Director of Wound Care. Other related duties may be assigned or requested.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, documented with credentials.
• A current Registered Nursing license for the state in which the employee works.
• Current CPR certification, which must be maintained.
• Two years of direct patient care experience.

Nice To Haves

• Certification from an approved Wound Care Certification course.
• Experience in emergency care, critical care, or ET nursing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate wound care therapy into patients’ total nursing care plans.
• Participate in patient and family teaching.
• Work cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient-care team personnel to maintain professional nursing practice standards in the clinical setting.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
