RN Unit Coordinator 4E -Surgery Unit, Nights
About The Position
Sentara is currently hiring an RN Unit Coordinator to work at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital on the Surgery Unit 4 East. This is a full-time position working nights. The unit is known for its great teamwork and provides quality care to adult medical/surgical patients who are acutely ill or injured. The 19-bed unit specializes in post-operative surgical patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5/6. The most common clinical conditions include general surgery (emergent and elective), Davinci Robotic surgery, urology, gynecology surgeries, vascular procedures, mastectomies, and soft tissue traumas. The medical population includes conditions like diverticulitis, Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, colitis, fistulas, kidney injury, sepsis, pneumonia, asthma, and diabetes. RN Unit Coordinators demonstrate proficiency in nursing practice for their assigned specialty area and provide clinical leadership. They lead safety and quality initiatives, focus on workflow simplification, contribute to staff development, increase staff satisfaction, and promote excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- 18 months nursing experience
- BSN, MSN, or RN Doctorate from an accredited school
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area.
- Provide clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department.
- Under the direction of the department manager, lead safety and quality initiatives.
- Focus on and simplify workflow.
- Contribute to the development of staff.
- Increase staff satisfaction.
- Promote excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
