About The Position
Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Unit Coordinator for 3 North Med Surg. This is a Full Time, Night shift position in Suffolk, VA. The Medical-Surgical Unit at Sentara Obici Hospital is a great place to learn and grow, supported by a longstanding leadership team and strong preceptors dedicated to mentoring new nurses. The Med Surg has a 21-bed unit and sees all types of patients, offering a good variety. This unit offers a collaborative, supportive environment ideal for both new graduates and experienced nurses seeking to enhance their skillset. Unit coordinators are on staff, ensuring smooth operations and quality patient care. The RN Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. They increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Nursing - BSN (Required)
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- 18 months nursing experience (Required)
Nice To Haves
- Masters of Science in Nursing - MSN (Preferred)
- Professional Specialty Nursing Certification (Preferred)
