About The Position

Olympic Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Surgical Services unit. This position is 100% FTE and involves variable shifts. The role focuses on assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of patients across all age groups within the surgical unit. The nurse will promote continuity of care by providing direct patient care and supervising Surgical Technicians and ancillary personnel. Responsibilities include patient and family teaching, maintaining professional nursing standards, and demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles. The position requires the ability to assess and interpret patient data based on age-specific needs and follow departmental policies. On-call responsibilities are included. Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited School of Nursing, required.
  • Current Washington State RN license, required.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), required.
  • Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one-year recent surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of patients in the surgical unit which spans all population ages from pediatric to geriatric.
  • Promotes continuity of care for patients providing direct care as well as supervising care given by the Surgical Technicians and ancillary personnel.
  • Participates in patient and family teaching.
  • Maintains standards for professional nursing practices.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span, possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs and provides the care needed as described in the department/unit’s policy and procedures.
  • Has on call responsibilities.

  • Premiums: Standby - $4.00/hour, Charge - $3.25/hour, Float - $2.50/hour, Per Diem - 15% (on rate of pay, in lieu of benefits), Certification - $2.00/hour, Preceptor - $2.00/hour, San Exam - $500.00
