About The Position

Olympic Medical Center is seeking a full-time RN for their Surgical Services unit. This role involves providing direct patient care and supervising other staff, promoting continuity of care for patients across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric. The position requires participation in patient and family teaching and maintaining professional nursing standards. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles and the ability to interpret patient data based on age-specific needs. Shifts vary based on patient and department needs, and on-call responsibilities are included.

Requirements

Graduate of accredited School of Nursing, required.
Current Washington State RN license, required.
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), required.
Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), required.

Nice To Haves

Minimum one-year recent surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of patients in the surgical unit which spans all population ages from pediatric to geriatric.
Promotes continuity of care for patients providing direct care as well as supervising care given by the Surgical Technicians and ancillary personnel.
Participates in patient and family teaching.
Maintains standards for professional nursing practices.
Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span, possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs and provides the care needed as described in the department/unit’s policy and procedures.
