About The Position

This position serves as the House Supervisor for a 50-bed rural healthcare facility. The House Supervisor is responsible for managing patient admissions, transfers, and bed availability to optimize patient care and resource utilization. This role involves acting as a liaison between physicians, nursing leadership, unit staff, care management, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. In the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the House Supervisor assumes the role of Administrator on Duty, making administrative decisions and providing direction for all hospital departments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in nursing required.
Registered Nurse license.
Three (3) to five (5) years of acute care clinical nursing experience.
Experience in a variety of acute care nursing departments.
Advanced knowledge of Case Management and Utilization Review processes, including but not limited to, InterQual and acute-care patient status regulations and guidelines.

Nice To Haves

Certification in ACLS, BLS, TNCC and PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure patients are admitted to the most appropriate level of care and bed assignment using established criteria.
Function as a liaison for Physicians, Nursing Leadership, Nursing Unit staff, Care Management Staff, and other integral stakeholders to ensure efficient operations.
Act as the Administrator on Duty in the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer, making administrative decisions and providing direction and supervision for operational issues across all hospital departments.
