The RN Stroke Program Coordinator is responsible for stroke program oversight, providing clinical and administrative leadership in the care of stroke patients throughout the care continuum. This role involves coordinating and evaluating operations and clinical program processes to ensure the delivery of quality patient care, assisting the System Director with program goals, and having direct oversight for stroke program regulatory accreditation. The coordinator will review stroke and neuroscience patients daily, respond to Code Strokes, identify trends in stroke care, and explore process improvements. They will also assist in developing and revising standards of care, guidelines, and order sets, and be responsible for collecting and recording data for benchmark targets, specifically STK Advanced Primary Stroke Center measures. Monitoring compliance with regulatory and quality guidelines is crucial. The role includes working with various departments to ensure comprehensive patient education and coordinating care through interdisciplinary collaboration. Participation in staff education and providing support to the Stroke/Neuroscience team for continual learning are also key responsibilities.
