About The Position

This position involves the planning and provision of nursing care to patients in the step down unit. The role requires accurate interpretation of ECG rhythm and management of care for patients during life-threatening emergencies. Additionally, the role involves the supervision and delegation of care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice.

Requirements

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
Current California Registered Nurse license.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
Completion of Critical Care Course.
Required cardiovascular nursing knowledge of skills applicable to the care of post-coronary intervention and open heart patients during their rehab & discharge phase of their hospitalization.
Excellent observation skills, good nursing judgement/critical thinking, and oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with multiple tasks in a team setting utilizing interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skills.
Able to supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel in proportion with their scope of practice.
