About The Position

The RN Staff member is responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame. The role provides patient care through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment and instrumentation, and other healthcare team members. The RN supervises the activities of Respiratory Therapists, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Unit Assistants. The position is scheduled for 42 hours per week on a 7 p.m.–7 a.m. shift.

Requirements

• Successfully completed a Board Certified Nursing Program.
• Associate degree required.
• Current Louisiana RN licensure.
• Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications through ILCOR-provided courses; courses must include a manikin check-off.
• TNCC and NRP certifications required within one year of hire.
• CPI certification required within six months of hire.
• Basic computer skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
• Good physical health; able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Nice To Haves

• Baccalaureate degree preferred.
• Emergency Department experience preferred.
