RN Staff Nurse - Surgical Specialties
About The Position
Join the Surgical Specialties Unit at Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center in Tualatin, Oregon. The Registered Nurse provides compassionate, high-quality patient care and works with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to support positive patient outcomes. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while following applicable nursing standards and Legacy Health System procedures. Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center serves the Tualatin community and offers services including emergency care, maternity services, advanced imaging, STEMI care, and specialized stroke care as a certified Primary Stroke Center.
Requirements
- One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration.
- Additional clinical experience requirements may vary depending on the department in which the position is utilized.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
- Keyboard skills and the ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
- Current applicable state RN license.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.
- Education as required by licensure.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or a degree in progress is strongly preferred.
- A BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care within an assigned department or unit.
- Function as a member of the healthcare team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee.
- Adhere to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse.
- Perform all aspects of the nursing process: assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Follow established Legacy Health System patient care standards, including standards for patient assessment and patient transfer.
