About The Position

The RN Staff Nurse provides patient-centered care on an adult psychiatric inpatient unit at Unity. Legacy’s nursing philosophy emphasizes advocacy, communication, problem-solving, and caregiving for patients and families. Unity’s trauma-informed approach focuses on destigmatizing behavioral health diagnoses and providing holistic treatment. Nurses use critical thinking, individualized care plans, early interventions, specialized assessments, de-escalation, and motivational interviewing, while also addressing physical health needs such as assessment, wound care, and phlebotomy. Unity serves voluntary and involuntary patients age 18 and older across four adult units, with unit capacities ranging from 17 to 25 private and shared beds. Care includes specialized nursing, care management, peer support, groups, animal therapy, and garden therapy. Nurses collaborate with patients and the interdisciplinary treatment team to support recovery. The RN is responsible for patient care within an assigned department or unit and participates as a member of the health care team under the direction of the clinical manager or designee. The nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates care according to Legacy Health System standards, including standards for patient assessment and transfer.
