RN Staff Educator
About The Position
West Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Staff Educator to join their team. The Staff Educator will be responsible for developing and implementing the hospital’s annual education and training plan. They will conduct comprehensive new hire orientation, design and update clinical education curriculum specific to behavioral health based on regulatory requirements, and ensure all mandatory annual education requirements are met. The role involves updating training materials based on regulatory, policy, and evidence-based practices changes, maintaining the training calendar, and communicating educational offerings to staff. West Oaks Hospital has been providing psychiatric care for over three decades and is a 176-bed acute care facility with a 16-bed residential treatment center for adult chemical dependency. They offer a broad range of behavioral health programs for children, adolescents, and adults at multiple levels of care, including inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient. The hospital is available 24/7 and is easily accessible off the Southwest Freeway near the Galleria.
Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Current license as Registered Nurse in Texas
- CPR certification
- Hospital de-escalation certifications
- Five years of clinical experience as a licensed RN in a psychiatric setting
- Previous experience in staff development, clinical education, preceptor or charge nurse role
