RN - Educator

Elderwood•Mattapan, MA

About The Position

The RN Educator provides clinical education and employee development across Elderwood at Mattapan Health & Rehab and Elderwood at West Roxbury Health & Rehab. This is a blended education and clinical-practice role, not a classroom-only position. The Educator leads orientation, competency development, in-services, certification programs, employee mentorship, and Nursing Assistant Training Program activities when applicable, while maintaining an active clinical presence through scheduled or operationally necessary cart-nurse assignments at either facility. During direct-care shifts, the RN Educator provides nursing care for an assigned resident group, including medication and treatment administration, assessment and monitoring, documentation, communication about changes in condition, care coordination, and CNA support. Clinical practice helps the Educator identify learning needs, understand unit workflows, coach employees in context, and model the standards being taught. The role partners with facility nursing and department leaders, nurse preceptors, and the Regional Nurse Consultant to strengthen clinical practice, develop competencies, support regulatory readiness, and address organizational initiatives. The posting also describes a potential development pathway for high-performing RNs interested in future Director of Nursing opportunities, including possible consideration for Widener University’s 12-week Director of Nursing Leadership Academy. The job is listed as full-time and onsite, supports two facility locations, and requires clinical schedule flexibility. The posting also describes skilled nursing, long-term care, memory care, and subacute rehabilitation services, with clinical capabilities including IV therapy, PICC-line management, wound-vac therapy, complex wound care, ostomy care, enteral feeding, and dialysis coordination. The description refers to Elderwood at Cheektowaga in its clinical-environment section, although the role’s listed locations are Mattapan and West Roxbury.
