About The Position

The RN Educator – Clinical Education and Practice provides clinical education and employee development across Elderwood at Mattapan Health & Rehab and Elderwood at West Roxbury Health & Rehab. This is a full-time, onsite role supporting two facility locations and requiring clinical schedule flexibility. The role combines education responsibilities with active direct resident care: the educator leads orientation, competency development, in-services, certification programs, employee mentorship, and clinical systems support, while also accepting cart-nurse assignments as scheduled or operationally necessary. During direct-care shifts, the RN Educator manages the nursing care associated with an assigned resident group, including medication and treatment administration, assessment and monitoring, documentation, communication about changes in condition, care coordination, and CNA support. The educator uses clinical practice and observation to identify learning needs, model expected standards, and coach employees in their work environment. The RN Educator partners with facility nursing and department leaders and collaborates with the assigned Regional Nurse Consultant and other clinical resources. Responsibilities also include education compliance, employee health activities, emergency-preparedness exercises, record maintenance, and support for surveys, audits, and clinical-quality reviews. The position may provide experience relevant to future nursing leadership opportunities; qualified Registered Nurses with leadership potential and interest in Director of Nursing roles may be considered for advanced development experiences, including Widener University’s Director of Nursing Leadership Academy.
