This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Cardiology Clinic. The RN will utilize the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients. This includes performing assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. The RN will administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation, and develop and execute patient care plans. They will also provide patient and family education, participate in performance improvement activities, and utilize clinical expertise to support the longitudinal plan of care. The role involves resolving system breakdowns, managing complex situations, delegating appropriately, and escalating issues as needed. The RN will also engage in personal development, continuous learning, and support peer review. For Clinic and Ambulatory RNs, this includes maintaining patient flow, responding to telephone calls, and performing telephone triage. Illinois RNs are required to complete 10 hours of continued education for licensure.
