RN Specialized -Part-time - Urgent Care - Torrey Pines
About The Position
This is a part-time position working a 12-hr day shift schedule. Weekends are required on a rotating basis, generally 2 weekend shifts per month. Located in La Jolla at the Torrey Pines Clinic. The Torrey Pines Urgent Care functions more like an ED than a true Urgent Care, seeing patients with varying acuity that range from mild coughs/colds all the way up to Stroke Codes, MIs, Sepsis, and more. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week with 170+ visits a day, making it a fast-paced Urgent Care that offers immediate medical care for non-life-threatening conditions. Requirements
- Registered Nursing Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing
- Active California RN license
- American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS Healthcare Provider Certifications
- 1 year of recent adult emergency services experience
- Be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate positive behaviors
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- CEN – Certified Emergency Nursing
- Recent and/or extensive ED experience as an RN
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and care tasks, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate.
- Educate patients and document patient interactions.
- Practice infection control.
- Contribute to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care within your own scope of practice.
- Hands-on experience with a wide variety of emergency patients.
- An array of education opportunities and are actively involved in process improvements.
