You will expand skills in novel structural heart interventions, atrial fibrillation management, contemporary heart failure treatments, implantable device therapies, and echocardiography in cardiac care.

Requirements

  • ADN or Nursing Diploma
  • CA RN license
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • American Heart Association ACLS

  • Cardiology experience
  • IV placement experience
  • Autonomy experience

Responsibilities

  • Working on computer messages and phone calls (about 90% of the position)
  • Performing hands-on/in-person patient care (about 10%), mostly IV placement
  • Working hand in hand with the Echo department placing IVs for contrasts
  • Performing phone triage
  • Giving procedure instructions and educating patients pre and post procedure
  • Documenting patient interaction in Epic
  • Ensuring Scripps patients and their families have an exceptional health care experience
  • Practicing infection control
  • Contributing to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care within your own scope of practice
  • Complying with patient assessments and care tasks
  • Completing clinical procedures
  • Following emergency protocols
  • Administering medication
  • Working collaboratively with the other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care
