About The Position

This is a benefited, full time, 12-hr night shift position generally working 7pm-7:30am. Weekends are required on a rotating basis, generally 1-2 weekends/month. Located in La Jolla at the Torrey Pines Clinic. This unique department functions more like an ED than a true Urgent Care, seeing patients with varying acuity that range from mild coughs/colds all the way up to Stroke Codes, MIs, Sepsis, and more. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week with 170+ visits a day, this is a fast-paced Urgent Care that offers immediate medical care for non-life-threatening conditions. Requirements

Registered Nursing Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing
Active California RN license
American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS Healthcare Provider Certifications
1 year of recent adult emergency services experience
Be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
Have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate positive behaviors

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in nursing
CEN – Certified Emergency Nursing
Recent and/or extensive ED experience as an RN
Charge RN experience

Responsibilities

Perform patient assessments and care tasks, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate.
Educate patients and document patient interactions.
Practice infection control.
Contribute to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care within your own scope of practice.
Hands-on experience with a wide variety of emergency patients.
An array of education opportunities and are actively involved in process improvements.
