About The Position
As a Registered Nurse with The Menta Education Group, you will oversee the health and well-being of students, act as a resource for health education and maintain student records and data for compliance purposes. Menta Academy Northwest, Machesney Park, IL. Must have R.N. License Staff Hours 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., following a School Calendar Direct Hire with our school: Return School Year after School Year Annual Salary for Full-Time. Willing to discuss Part-Time Option No Nights, No Weekends, No Federal Holidays Paid Holiday/Season Breaks
Requirements
- Current/Active Registered Nurse
- Considerable knowledge of medical and mental health disorders and subsequent treatment.
- Considerable knowledge of child growth and development.
- Working knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies.
- Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services.
- Some knowledge of the school organization and the community served.
- Capacity to coordinate and facilitate services between the school, local health agency, and other community resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide first aid care and medically prescribed services.
- Obtain and review consents for medication administration in school.
- Document each instance for medication administration.
- Train designated staff on medication administration and documentation of medication administration
- Maintain security of school health supplies.
- Instruct students in health education.
- Correspond with parents and medical providers on the health needs of students.
- Record immunizations, health findings, and other relevant health data.
- Maintain accurate related service logs updated weekly.
- Coordinate and communicate with administrative staff, teachers, and other related service staff as needed or IEP directed.
- Develop Individual Health Care plans for students with allergies.
