About The Position
The Registered Nurse plans, implements, coordinates, and evaluates nursing care for patients. The role participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing personnel and other members of the patient care team to maintain professional nursing practice standards in the clinical setting. As a member of the Resource Allocation Pool Plus team, the nurse helps maintain operational continuity by covering critical openings in specialized areas and supporting robust staffing profiles, particularly during peak seasons. The position offers flexible working options for allied health professionals. The schedule is described as occasional.
Requirements
- Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Louisiana.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patient conditions and initiate or adjust care plans as needed.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient status with appropriate interventions.
- Administer medications and perform treatments in accordance with policy.
- Provide hygiene and comfort measures to support patient well-being.
- Educate patients and families and identify and address emotional and psychosocial needs.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare teams.
- Identify and manage patient risks, including falls and skin breakdown.
- Follow infection control and safety procedures, including proper body mechanics.
- Complete documentation, shift reports, and assigned tasks accurately and on time.
- Prioritize multiple tasks and use time efficiently to deliver patient-centered care.
- Cover critical openings in specialized areas.
- Help maintain robust staffing profiles, especially during peak seasons.
