About The Position
The Residency RN - Transition to Practice Program is an opportunity for new graduate RNs or experienced RNs transitioning to hospital nursing or a new specialty. The program supports residents in developing nursing practice, competence, autonomy, and connection to purpose. Resident RNs receive classroom instruction and clinical hours with expert preceptors, advancing their education, knowledge, and practical skills in providing quality patient care and services. This position is for the Mother Baby department at MultiCare Deaconess Hospital in Spokane. The role is listed at 0.9 FTE, with a 12/40 variable schedule.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS).
- Current BLS certification.
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP within 90 days of hire, as required by department.
- TNCC and PEARS within 1 year of hire, as required by department.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Learn to assess, plan, coordinate, evaluate, and delegate nursing functions across the lifespan of individuals, families, caregivers, and populations.
- Use the nursing process to provide nursing care and health teaching for health maintenance, health promotion, and illness prevention.
- Function interdependently when executing a medical regimen under the direction of a physician.
- Collaborate to improve quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction.
