About The Position

The Residency RN - Transition to Practice Program is an opportunity for new graduate RNs or experienced RNs transitioning to hospital nursing or a new specialty area. The program combines classroom instruction and clinical hours with expert preceptors to develop nursing practice, competence, autonomy, and clinical skills in providing quality patient care and services.

This position is for the February 22nd cohort at MultiCare Valley Hospital in Spokane Valley. The hospital is a 123-bed, fully accredited acute-care facility with a Level III Trauma Center and comprehensive surgical, inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, and advanced cardiac services. The position is listed at 0.9 FTE with a variable shift and a 12/40 schedule.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS).
• Current BLS Certification.
• Obtain ACLS, PALS, and NRP within 90 days of hire if required by the department.
• Obtain TNCC and PEARS within 1 year of hire if required by the department.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn to assess, plan, coordinate, evaluate, and delegate nursing functions across the lifespan of individuals, families, caregivers, and populations.
• Use the nursing process to provide nursing care and health teaching for health maintenance, health promotion, and illness prevention.
• Function interdependently when executing a medical regimen under the direction of a physician.
• Collaborate to improve quality of care and patient experience and reduce costs.
