About The Position

Provides direct patient care in a behavioral health setting at a proficient level, following applicable scope and standards of practice and the organization’s policies, values, and mission. Monitors patients to maintain a safe environment, optimize outcomes, and maximize available resources. This is an onsite PRN role with a night shift schedule in UCHealth CeDAR Residential Care in Aurora, Colorado.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if the applicant has less than 3 years of experience.
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
At least 6 months of RN experience.
BLS through the American Heart Association, or CPR for the Professional Rescuer through the American Red Cross, with the card in hand before the start date. The BLS or CPR card must remain valid through 60 days after hire.

Responsibilities

Initiates corrective action when a patient’s presentation shows adverse symptomology.
Responds to patient-care situations using nursing standards and treatment protocols.
Provides psychiatric nursing care to a complex behavioral health patient population in a complex environment.
Handles critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.
Uses critical thinking and decisive judgment and works with minimal supervision.
Works in a fast-paced environment and takes appropriate action.
