About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) works in a 67-bed, high-acuity Progressive Care Unit caring for a diverse adult patient population that requires elevated monitoring and nursing expertise. The unit provides patient- and family-centered care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with Registered Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and Telemetry Technicians. The broad clinical scope offers opportunities to strengthen assessment and critical-thinking skills across adult medicine, surgical, cardiac, neurology, and gastrointestinal populations. Patients may require titrated cardiac or insulin drips, hourly glucose monitoring, CIWA management, care involving ICDs, permanent pacemakers or Life Vests, ventilator or tracheostomy care, stable BiPAP monitoring, NIHSS assessments and frequent neurological checks, and care for chest tubes, PleurX catheters, post-pericardial window patients, CAPD patients with cardiac conditions, and pregnant patients requiring progressive care monitoring.
