About The Position

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers. The role includes providing pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocating for patients to support an exceptional patient experience. Nurses are encouraged to influence patient care through collaboration with their direct manager and participation in hospital councils and national nursing initiatives.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Hold a current California Registered Nurse license.
• Hold current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Hold current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Hold NIH Stroke Scale Certification.
• Have a minimum of one year of full-time equivalent acute care hospital experience as a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care, IMC, or Step Down Unit.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients at admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Document care administration promptly and thoroughly in patient medical records.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients’ responses.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in caring for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
• Collaborate with medical providers to deliver pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Advocate for patients to support a high-quality patient experience.
