About The Position

Provides direct and indirect patient care in a freestanding emergency department care setting. Communicates and collaborates with physicians, leadership, coworkers, and multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes. Delivers high-quality care using critical thinking, nursing processes, sound decision-making, compassion, integrity, respect, and empathy. Preserves patients’ autonomy, dignity, and rights, and works to restore health whenever possible. Performs general nursing duties, patient education, and care prioritization, along with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

At least one year of nursing experience.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
RN licensure.
BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Computer literacy.
ACLS certification.
PALS certification.
Specialty certification.

Responsibilities

Assess patients appropriately and accurately based on their medical condition.
Understand ordered medications and administer them as prescribed.
Provide care appropriate to each patient’s condition and age, including assistance with basic self-care activities.
Develop teaching plans based on identified learning needs, evaluate learning effectiveness, and include family in teaching as appropriate.
Apply nursing knowledge to perform treatments and provide services.
Communicate and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in providing patient care.
Assist physicians with procedures and perform services requiring technical and manual skills.
Identify and address psychosocial needs of patients and families, and communicate with social services about hospital and post-discharge needs.
Use supplies, linen, and charge items cost-effectively and avoid waste.
Prioritize patient care effectively and efficiently.
Promote patient safety by reducing the risk of unnecessary harm associated with health care.
Pursue lifelong learning related to the nursing profession.
Perform other duties as assigned.
