About The Position

McAllen Surgery Center is seeking a Preoperative Screening RN for its ambulatory surgery center. The role helps prepare and clear patients for surgery by collecting patient information, communicating with physician offices, completing medical histories, and assembling clinical records under the direction of the clinical preoperative screeners. The center is located in McAllen, Texas, and offers gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures, colorectal, general, and bariatric surgeries.

Requirements

• RN licensure.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve voicemail messages and return calls promptly.
• Maintain adequate supplies for the office area.
• Conduct preoperative phone calls to collect preadmission information and provide appropriate preoperative instructions.
• Maintain departmental Excel spreadsheets tracking patient data collection and telephone communications.
• Compile patient charts and ensure required documentation is available, up to date, and compliant with regulations.
