Join Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute and become part of one of the world’s most respected healthcare organizations. We are expanding with a new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions — including spine injuries, epileptic seizures, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke. This advanced building brings every stage of care under one roof, featuring dedicated spaces for outpatient services, surgery, stepdown, ICU and epilepsy monitoring, as well as additional operating rooms and expanded ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG, sleep and rehabilitation services. The Neuro Pre-Op/PACU Unit is a newly established unit in the state-of-the-art Neuro Building, designed to support patients through every stage of the surgical experience. This 36-bed unit brings together Pre-Op and Post-Anesthesia Care (PACU) into one cohesive, flexible environment, where nurses are cross-trained to care for patients both before and after surgery, including dedicated nursing education support. Focused exclusively on neurology patients, the team provides a seamless, specialized care journey from initial surgical preparation through immediate recovery within a space built specifically to advance neuro care. Caring for a diverse adult neurology population, the unit manages a full spectrum of surgical needs, from same-day procedures to high-acuity post-operative recovery. Nurses are equipped with critical care competencies to support complex cases, while pediatric neurology patients are cared for in collaboration with specialized pediatric nurses. Close partnership with the Operating Room and PACU teams ensures a highly coordinated, team-based approach, supported by strong leadership and shared governance. Hiring Now – caregivers hired for this role will have the opportunity to work and train in the current Adult PACU setting prior to moving into the new building.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment
One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience
