About The Position

The plastic and reconstructive surgery nurse position is a hybrid role that involves first-assisting in the operating room and patient care in the office setting. This role is 50% focused on first assisting during surgery and peri-operative coordination, and 50% focused on clinic duties. In the operating room, you will work with staff to ensure necessary suture and instrumentation is ready for OR cases. You will also ensure appropriate preoperative evaluations have been completed, including pre-anesthesia, imaging, and any other required health clearances. In the clinic, you will triage incoming patient phone calls and portal messages in a timely manner, documenting appropriately in the EMR and ensuring physician recommendations are communicated to patients. You will also ensure appropriate preoperative evaluations have been completed for clinic patients.

Requirements

Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities
