About The Position

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team. Works under the direction of the Division Chair, Division Manager and attending faculty. Supports the goals and philosophy of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Department of Surgery. Works in the clinical office of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery located at the Mt. Zion and Mission Bay campus. Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning implementation, and evaluation to provide safe therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care, Adult and Pediatrics, administered by other members of the nursing team. Assists the faculty members and residents with initial patient interactions, including interviews with patients; pre-operative and post-operative counseling regarding procedures, and coordinating care with other services. Responsible for medical equipment, purchasing implants, expanders and other supplies/ items needed for surgery and the clinic. In addition, assists with minor office procedures. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse license
  • Ability to utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
